Tips for your Holiday Shopping Trip

We are ready to kick up our feet and take a short 'stay-cation' this year as the holidays start to stroll around. Although we're apologetic that our posts haven't been as frequent as we promised, it might not improve this week due to the amount of turkey that we'll be stuffing in our stomachs for Thanksgiving!  However, we are very grateful for our readers and couldn't leave you without giving you a heads up on where to shop this coming Black Friday and this holiday season.

*Good Ol' Downtown
If you haven't already stopped by, you should head on down to the skyway and hit MNFashion's 2nd Annual Holiday Boutique.  This shop is open for the holiday season to give you the opportunity to purchase some of the hottest designs, accessories and art by Minnesota's local designers.  This year's boutique features exclusive handbags and clutches by {A03} Design, cute and simple yet affordable jewelry by Candied Yams Jewelry, and cards with a tad bit of 'ill will' by Maybe You Should Die. This boutique will be up and running throughout the holiday season, ending New Year's Eve.

*Mall of America
If you dare, take a walk on the wild side and hit the lines at the Mall of America.  While the masses will be rushing in early to get good deals on electronics and the like, you can head on over to H&M before 10 a.m. to pick up an extra 25% off of any item of your choice. Next, stop in at Guess where they are also giving 25% off of full-price merchandise and an extra 60% off of sale merchandise! Of course your trip wouldn't be complete without a stop at Steve Madden.  They are giving away scratch-card discounts up to 50%.  You can't get much better than that.  Well, you might if you head over to Mall of America's website and get the list of Black Friday deals for yourself.

*Albertville Premium Outlets
For the more sensible buyer, head to the outlet mall where the deals just keep getting better.  Albertville Premium Outlet keeps up the tradition of opening up the mall at midnight on the day after Thanksgiving (Nov.27).  At Aeropostale, Banana Republic, and Van Heusen save 50% off of the entire store all day.  Save big at the Guess, BCBG, Ecko, and Charlotte Russe outlets as well. Most major deals are going to last all week long. Yet, even after the Black Friday buzz dies down, you may just want to keep your eye on Albertville Premium Outlets for great deals on great stuff! Check out mall website for details.

Well, wherever you decide to shop this season, happy hunting!

Food for Thought

Edited by Ashe Mischief

This is my first time editing since I wrote Good Cop/Bad Cop: Participating in Links a la Mode. Thank you all so much for making this my most pleasurable experience in editing yet!

I’m not sure if it’s because American Thanksgiving is a week away, or because the blogosphere is ablaze with Kate Mosses’ unforgettable quote, “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels,” but either way, I’ve got food on my mind. This week, you brought me the best kind of food–rich, decadent, and 100% calorie-free! That’s right–you delivered highly thoughtful posts on fashion, fashion blogging & communities, and more.

On a personal note, ferOHHHsh has asked that we share her post about her close friend’s near-fatal accident. I believe that the fashion community is one of surprising strength, dignity, caring and compassion, and that it was worth sharing. We’re sending your friend speedy thoughts for a wonderful recovery!
